Mention ''the home plate lad'' to any moderate-to-hardcore Blue Jays fan and they'll likely know who you're talking about.

No one, it seems, knows her name or who she is though?

For those out of the loop, the Home Plate Lady is that symbolic fan of the Blue Jays. She's been a fixture for years with her serious demeanor and strategic spot right behind home plate, visible to everyone.

Home Plate Lady has attended countless Jays' home games, reportedly holding season tickets in that prime location for decades. Her unflinching demeanour, even in the face of near foul-ball hits, has made her a fan favorite.

There are not 1, but 3 fake Twitter accounts exist about 'home plate lady'

She even got a cardboard cutout tribute during the border closure in the pandemic. That's some serious respect, right?

Rogers Centre underwent a $400 million renovation. Sure, there were improvements that got some praise, but they shuffled the layout so much that even the season ticket holders are paying more for less appealing seats.

And what about the Home Plate Lady, moved to a less visible corner?

Blue Jays fans were outraged after their beloved «Home Plate Lady» was spotted in a new location during the team's Home Opener.

For years, the iconic superfan has been a fixture behind home plate, known for her stoic expression, prime seating, and unwavering support.

Now, relocated amidst Rogers Centre renovations, she's become an unexpected symbol of fan discontent.

«Who moved Home Plate Lady? It's not Off To The Side Lady!» «All that money spent and they messed up the only thing that matters,» fumed one fan.

While another declared, «This will be our curse. Mark my words.»

Her relocation trended on social media, sparking fervent debate among fans.

Home Plate Lady isn't just a fan; she's woven into the fabric of the Jays experience. Her presence is both familiar and enigmatic, symbolizing both steadfast support and an old-school fan culture that renovations can erase.

After all the fan hoopla and distress, in August of last season the Home Plate Lady just stopped going to the games.

I get tons of posts on my Facebook page and in my group asking where did she go? Why did she stop going to the games?

Many blame it on the fact she was moved after the renovations.

I still get people asking me do you know if shes okay? How would I know? I don't even know her name?

I do know one person who actually met her at an event after a game, even had drinks together, her picture taken with her and she actually told this person her real name.

Unfortunately that person who wishes to remain nameless, said that the Home Plate Lady made this person promise not to reveal it to anyone as she is a very private person.

As curious as I was I have to respect both of their private wishes. But man I really wanted to know too.

Some fans think that she simply could not take the direction of this team as they were terrible in 2024 and just stopped going to games out of protest.

This fan doesn't feel that way. I mean shes the super fan that stuck it out during the late 90's and early 2000's when the team was really stale and stagnant.

So where is the Home Plate Lady gone? Will she be back in 2025? Does anyone out there know?

If and when she does come back she may be the first fan in MLB history to get a standing ovation. And what a moment that would be!

Tonight I'm having a Sunday night cap in honor of the Home Plate Lady and hopefully her eventual return.
